David Beckham
Born as David Robert Joseph Beckham at Whipps Cross University Hospital in Keytonstone, London, England on May 2nd, 1975; he is the son of David Edward Alan Beckham and Sandra Georgina Beckham. David has two sisters, Lynne Georgina and Joanne Louise. As a kid, Beckham's only dream was to become a professional footballer. When teachers asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, he would simply respond, "I want to be a footballer." Aside from his passion of playing football, or soccer, David considered himself "half Jewish", since his maternal grandfather was Jewish, and went to church every Sunday with his family.
His parents were huge Manchester United fanatics, and eventually David picked up the affection for the football team. The family would often times travel to Old Trafford to attend Manchester's home games. David was able to attend a football school run by Bobby Charlton. Charlton was a player for Manchester who was voted European Football Player of the Year in 1966. While attending the football school, Bobby took notice of David, and David was offered a chance to take part in a training session with FC Barcelona, as part of a talent competition. Even as a teenager, Beckham was an extravagant footballer.
In 1997, after attending a Manchester United football game, Victoria Adams, a member of the Spice Girls, met David Beckham. The two started dating and instantly received a little too much attention. On January 24th, 1998, David took their relationship to a whole new level, and proposed to Victoria. On July 4th, 1999, the two got married at Luttrellston Castle in Ireland. The wedding attracted tremendous media coverage. Beckham's teammate Gary Neville was the best man, and the couple's infant son, Brooklyn, was the ring bearer. David and Victoria have three sons: Brooklyn Joseph Beckham (born March 4th, 1999 in London, England), Romeo James Beckham (born September 1st, 2002 in London, England), and Cruz David Beckham (born February 20th, 2005 in Madrid Spain). Both, David and Victoria, have said they want to have a fourth child, especially a girl. On January 9th, 2011, the couple announced Victoria was pregnant with their fourth child.
